Graduate Seminar
Unified approach to quantum cohomology of Grassmannians
Andrew Kresch
22 Oct 2006, 15:00 – 17:00

The quantum cohomology ring of an algebraic variety encodes answers to enumerative questions about rational curves on the variety. We start with the case of Grassmannian varieties, where everything can be described concretely. There are some more general homogeneous varieties where many sorts of similar results can be obtained. We describe a unified treatment of these results, proposed in a recent preprint by Chaput, Manivel, and Perrin.
